We have ended our collection but we are still reaching out to the various centres to extend our service to them. We have a couple of distribution to do in the next week as well.
We are happy that we received more than what we aimed for and that meant that we could reach out to more people who need our help. To date, we have received more than $5000 in cash and close to 70 working phones. Thank you for your help in achieving this.

Two days ago, we received a call from Kreta Ayer Seniors Activities Centre (Chin Swee), another centre we have been working closely with, asking if we could assist their residents with some phone distribution. Two days later, here we are! One of the biggest challenges for the seniors is to remember how to use their new phones. We scheduled a number of follow up sessions for the seniors to help them cope with the change. Since both centres were just opposite each other, we had volunteers on both sides bringing more joy to the residents. We also managed to do a couple more house visits to some residents of Jalan Kukoh. Our day at the Humanitarian Organization for Migrants Economic (HOME) was slightly different from the other distribution centres. HOME is a shelter for migrant workers. Our afternoon was filled with joy and laughter. Our volunteers also had the chance to understand the situation a little better by talking to the staff and residents. |
